PUNCAK - In a profound act of community support, the Raider Infantry Battalion 323/Buaya Putih Kostrad, under the command of TNI’s HABEMA Operational Command, has launched a program that directly uplifts the economy of Papua’s rural communities. The initiative, known as ROSITA (Buy Up Farming Products), was implemented by the 323 Task Forces stationed at Gome Post, led by First Lieutenant Galang, during a routine security patrol in Dengkibuma Village, Beoga District. Tuesday. 26 Nov 2024.
The program stems from a directive by the 323 Task Forces Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Tri Wiratno, who emphasized the importance of addressing the economic needs of the communities under their watch. As part of their mission, the Soldiers purchased local farming products using their personal funds, providing immediate economic relief to villagers and reinforcing a spirit of partnership.
Amid the scenic highlands of Papua Tengah, the Soldiers’ gesture resonated deeply with the villagers. Sellers eagerly participated, knowing their hard-earned harvests were valued. Mama Nia Wonda, one of the farmers, expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Thank you, Commander 323. God bless.” Her words captured the essence of the program’s impact: restoring dignity and hope in the community.
Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, HABEMA’s Commanding General, commended the initiative, stating: “The ROSITA program exemplifies TNI’s commitment to fostering economic empowerment in remote regions. Such efforts are pivotal in accelerating Papua’s development and nurturing a brighter future for its people.”
