INTAN JAYA - One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in Intan Jaya Regency, Papua Tengah Province. On Saturday, 31 August 2024.
The 509 Task Forces, especially the Kodim Persiapan (Koper) Post led by Second Lieutenant Alvinta Sembiring, conducted Territorial Activities in the form of Social Communication (Komsos) when carrying out security duties in the Mamba Village, Sugapa District. This Komsos was carried out to foster harmonious relations with all levels of the Mamba community while monitoring developments in the local security situation.

Commander of the 509 Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, has instilled in his Soldiers the importance of aiding those in need in their assigned areas while carrying out the main task of securing the area. Therefore, on that Saturday, the Soldiers utilized their time at the Post to invite the Mamba children for a social interaction. The activities included studying and sharing meals.
While the communication took place, the Soldiers had the opportunity to interact and communicate with the children who came to the Post. To improve the quality of the communication, the Soldiers offered to have lunch with the Mamba children. The Mamba children at the Post joyfully welcomed this offer, which not only showed their appreciation but also indicated the positive impact of the Soldiers' actions on the local community. Feeling treated like brothers, one of the Mamba children, Dani Sondegau, said, "Thank you, Uncle 509. God bless you."
After receiving the activity report, the HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, acknowledged the 509 Task Forces’ initiative to communicate socially with the Mamba children. His words: "The 509 Task Forces' initiative is a testament to TNI's commitment to conduct inclusive Social Communication with all parties to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region." This acknowledgment from the highest authority in HABEMA underscores the importance of such initiatives and their impact on the region's development.
